660MW SUPERCRITICAL UNIT SIMULATOR TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Different types of simulator training programmes are available to meet the needs of various categories of thermal power plant personnel.

1. Basic Operation (10 days)

Objective:
To provide comprehensive training on all the aspects of power plant operation for trainees to take charge of the unit control desk. Systematic line-up of all the equipments & systems, cold & hot startups, shutdown procedure etc are practiced extensively. Operation of the unit under wide range of emergencies, judicious mix of lectures and discussions are carried out besides regular panel practice to instill sense of confidence.
Participants:
Newly recruited trainees (ETs, GTs) likely to be posted in unit operation and personnel working in smaller units likely to switch over to 660 MW unit operation.

Duration: Two weeks (10 days)


2. Operation Familiarization (5 days)

Objective:
To provide an overview of unit operation to those who are responsible for maintain the plant system. Unit startup with different terminal conditions, system lineup, shutdown and few malfunctions will be covered along with lectures.
Participants:
Maintenance executives from Mechanical, Electrical and C&I sections, other O&M engineers working in the areas such as Performance Monitoring, Maintenance Planning etc.

Duration: One week (5 days)

3. Refresher Training (5 days)

Objective:
To refresh knowledge, operation skills and improve upon reflexes of experienced operation personnel. Emergency handling, transient operation, malfunction exercises, performance and efficiency aspects are stressed upon besides normal panel operation coupled with lectures on specialized topics and discussion on critical issues.
Participants:
Operation executives working in the level of desk engineer/unit controller having minimum 5 years working experience in the desk operation.

Duration: One week (5 days)

4. Simulator Appreciation Programme (3 days)
Objective:
To demonstrate the capabilities and features available in the simulator to senior executives and sectional heads from O&M and other associated areas, who are instrumental in nominating participants for simulator training. The course covers system line-up, cold/hot start-ups, shutdown and demonstration of emergency handling.
Participants:
Senior management executives in the level of AGM, GM, Chief Engineer etc.

Duration: Three days
